Development Services

The Naviscent Development Team works collaboratively with clients to assess and build an integrated site based on the Naviscent Research & Design Team’s design specification. We develop complete sites, Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) in AJAX and Flex, and mobile applciations. Our teams are configured for your needs.

By partnering with your Development Teams, we will ensure technical considerations and enhancements will suit your business for many years to come. When it comes time to deploy the final site or application, our Development team’s Quality Assurance Group performs final site validation before handing the site off to your Deployment Team.

Naviscent will work with your key stakeholders on the project team during kickoff. Once launched, Naviscent will work on a daily basis with your project leader all the way through to project completion. The development phase of the project will continue to use the Naviscent Customer-Centered Design Process, ensuring the final implementation delivers on the best design for your customers.

Naviscent Site Design and Development can be broken down into seven phases:

  1. Discovery - Understanding the target customers and their needs, and conceptualizing the business and customer goals for the Web site
  2. Exploration - Generating several rough initial Web site designs, of which one or more will be chosen for further development
  3. Refinement - Polishing the navigation, layout, and flow of the selected design
  4. Production - Developing a fully interactive prototype and a design specification
  5. Implementation - Developing the code, content, and images for the Web site
  6. Launch - Deploying the Web site for actual use
  7. Maintenance - Supporting the existing site, gathering and analyzing metrics of success, and preparing for the next redesign

Naviscent Site Design and Development ProcessThe last two steps, Implementation and Maintenance, focus on the development of a Web site, building the site that we know customers prefer, and continuing to refine the design continuously. We describe these two steps as The Naviscent Customer-Centered Development Process. These two steps are also characterized by rapid iteration with progressive refinement, moving the implemented design into increasingly specific detail. During these stages we face the specific customer experience and engineering challenges of increasing site performance, and designing maintainable, flexible, code that will support ongoing marketing, sales and support innovation well past the end of the implementation phase. And since designs are rarely static, we design systems to enable ongoing experimentation with new and updated advertising, sales and support information and customer interaction flows.
